More children are being homeschooled than ever. The choice to homeschool your children isnt as rare as it used to be. Studies have shown that children who are homeschooled benefit from an ability to work independently and not let socialization interfere with their work. These studies have also shown that when you homeschool your kids they develop stronger family bonds. While its good to know all this, deciding to homeschool your kids is just the first step. Deciding upon the curriculum is another. Here are some ways to get started. Learn more about phonics activities and reading readiness.

Unschooling is by and large the most variable and relaxed type of home schooling you might think about. This is a type of curriculum that focuses on your kids natural instincts and interests and lets them sort of build their own curriculum or educate themselves.

The municipal bond exchange traded fund market experienced a fair amount of turbulence on the heels of the Fed’s quantitative easing. Still, ratings firms believe that most municipalities will pull through.

Municipal bond-related investments have experienced high volatility in the past couple of weeks as a result of the high debt burden of states and municipalities and the Fed’s fiscal policy decisions, reports Andrea Tse for TheStreet. Muni bond funds saw outflows of around $2.37 billion in the week ending Jan. 12.

Additionally, Meredith Whitney, the U.S. financial analyst who accurately predicted the global credit crisis, also stated a few weeks back that over 100 American cities could go bankrupt and their issued bonds would default in 2011 as total debt of municipalities hit $2 trillion.

Store credit cards charge high interest, have limited use, and provide fewer benefits than traditional credit cards. Are they ever a good idea?

How many times have you been in a store and the cashier asks if youd like to save 10 percent today?

It sounds like a good deal everyone wants a discount. The catch? You have to open a store credit card. Cashiers are trained, and typically required, to present the offer as a smart move. You were going to pay $50 anyway, so why not open the card, save 10 percent, then send in your payment?

More often than not, a consumer will sign up for the card, save 10 percent on their original purchase (plus a few other items theyll buy to really wring the value from the one-time discount), and thene back to buy from the store again, since they have the credit line.

What is frugality? The dictionary definition of frugal: “Practicing or marked by economy, as in the expenditure of money or the use of material resources.” People think of it as simply being “cheap,” in the fashion of Ebeneezer Scrooge. I see it as the practice of getting the most for ones money, without giving up anything important.

It may surprise people to know that I buy the cheapest t-shirts and yet pay to have someone mow the lawn. But the shirt does the same job as the expensive ones, and my time is worth more to me than what I pay for mowing. Thats getting the most for my money, and I sacrifice nothing for this kind of frugality. Of course, I get a good deal on the lawn work too. Here are three ways to spend less and still get what you want.

1. Look For Free Things

I once got free dental x-rays from the dental hygienist program at a local college.

Just recently I had a flat tire, and needed the spare one, so I popped the trunk and went dizzy! Where the heck did all this stuff come from? I ended up getting the car towed to the garage to get the tire changed. What should have been a simple, free, do-it-yourself tire change ended up costing me. I had to pay not only for the tow truck but for the mechanic’s service as well. Hard earned cash down the drain! Luckily for me, my friends organized a sort of intervention, where they sat me down and literally forced me to get myself organized! After a neck straining day of filing, boxing and labelling, I managed to clear out the boot. I had several surprises when I found things that I thought I had lost, and had replaced (kicked myself for spending my cash when it was in my boot all along). A

Handling your monthly budget planner may seem unmanageable. But if you learn and practice how to organize monthly bills, you can save time, worry and even money. When you pay bills late, you may suffer numerous financial consequences, like late fees and a hit to your credit score. This can quickly stretch even the best-intended monthly budget too thin. Fortunately, several ways exist for you to learn how to organize monthly bills that do not require learning a lot of new skills or spending money:

1. Write down everything you spend. This should be one of your biggest priorities among personal record-keeping requirements.  For example, if you spend $43 on your cable bill, immediately make a note of this in a notebook, spreadsheet or with a free online budget planner.

2.
