As credit increased thoughout the country, there arose a great need to issue reports concerning those who are not a good credit risk as well as those who are of credit worthiness.

Because of this great need, credit reporting agencies were formed several years ago.

These agencies, known as credit bureaus, receive information about consumers (such as you) from banks, loan companies, credit card compnies, department stores and other credit issuing sources. Credit bureaus earn their profits by giving a computer readout showing a financial profile and credit history of any individual. Fixing their credit report is one of the most stressful tasks for some individuals. Making sure that their scores are accurate and to make it useful in the future is their primary goal. To avoid having to pay for unauthorized transactions, it is important to check on the financial information provided by the credit report. Any mistakes, such as the spelling of your name, the date you sent payment or the amount you owe should be reported immediately to the credit agency and the credit card company. You have to accept that this process, although it is not your fault, make take months to repair. The credit agency may need to check previous records and may even look for proof of your claim.

But making sure your credit report is clean is not the only thing that you should focus on. To avoid future problems, you should make sure that you cover or take a look at all the parts of your credit report.

How you handle your finances is one important aspect of your life that can generally influence the rest of you. Your credit worthiness is an asset that you must be able to protect to keep up with this credit-oriented world. Hearing stories about auto loans or mortgages being declined just because people have low credit scores is a common thing bad credit records can result to but the scope of what it can influence has widen.

Today about 35 percent of employers are making use of credit reports as their pre-employment assessment for applicants. Now it is not just your bank that uses credit report to assess your interest rates for loans, not only your insurance company that utilizes your credit score to determine the rate you should pay on car or homeowners insurance but now there are others who dip with the use of this record of your credit to justify one thing or another.

Well that is reality and the best that we can do is to work on building our credit worthiness.

MyCreditGroup.com has posted a very helpful article that discusses how having bad credit has a negative impact on your financial well being and credit report. Having bad credit can send you into serious debt in the long and short terms unless you look into some options for credit repair.

Here is a list of just a few of the negative effects caused from bad credit:

- Your loan application could be denied. If your credit score is lower than the average, lenders will see you as too risky to lend money to. Your credit score will make it look like you won’t be as likely to pay back the loan as someone with an average credit score. Some lenders might not offer you any line of credit at all.
